Very good trip, though Silver Galapagos was a bit disappointing.

Good trip with a lot to see. Demanding land portion - some very early days and some pretty high altitude. Great hotels in Peru. Overnight stay at the Sanctuary at Machu Picchu was a highlight. Silversea ship was a little disappointing (average food and food service), so might try the other Tauck option for Galapagos focus.

Most Memorable Moment:

Late afternoon at Machu Picchu after the crowds had left for the day.

lets start with the App. it provided great information prior to our trip so we could plan our free time. the hotel and restaurant guide need to be updated. Gaston was fabulous and the local guides top notch. I am always amazed at the quality of guides. the ship was great, the excursions left many memorible moments. Be ready for rigoruos walks.

Most Memorable Moment:

Staying at Machu Picchu lodge and hiking to the Gate of the Sun at 6 am the morning before we left. This was free time for us and not an easy trek. The guides were very proud of their heritage and conveyed the culture to us very well. Swimming with the sea lions on a deep water snorkel trip. Very well planned itinerary for both areas visited.

This was our first Tauck trip, and we were not disappointed. We went to Machu Picchu and the Galapagos. While it was a whirlwind trip - we were up at the crack of dawn - there was so much to see and do. Our tour Director was wonderful and extremely valuable - especially in the face of last minute airplane changes.

Most Memorable Moment:

There were several memorable moments - can't pick one. Of course exploring Machu Picchu was one highlight. Also, the many visits to the various Galapagos islands and the remarkable wildlife was breathtaking. It was particularly amazing to see that the animals had no fear of the humans - that we could approach without scaring them away.
